1. Set up your Google Business Profile properly
Your Business Profile is what appears on Google Maps and in the local results. It is free, and it is often the first thing customers see.
- Choose the most accurate main category, and add secondary categories that genuinely apply.
- Use your exact business name, full address and a phone number you answer.
- Add your opening hours, services and a short description of what you do and where.
- Upload real photos of your premises, team and work, and keep adding new ones.
- Complete verification. Unverified profiles rarely show up well.
2. Make your website easy for Google to understand
- Give every important service its own page with a clear heading, for example "Root canal treatment in Sector 62, Noida".
- Write a unique page title and meta description for each page.
- Show your business name, address and phone number on the website, written exactly as on your Business Profile.
- Add schema markup so search engines can read your business details.
- Make sure the site loads quickly and works well on mobile phones.
- Submit your sitemap in Google Search Console and fix any errors it reports.
3. Build genuine reviews
Reviews influence both ranking and whether people choose you. Ask happy customers for a review soon after you have served them, make it easy by sharing your review link on WhatsApp, and reply politely to every review, including negative ones. Never buy reviews or post fake ones; it breaks Google's policies and can get your profile suspended.
4. Keep your details consistent everywhere
List your business on reputable directories such as JustDial, Sulekha and IndiaMART, and on industry-specific sites. Use the same name, address and phone number everywhere so Google can trust that the information is correct.
5. Keep adding useful content
Answer the questions customers ask you every day, in short articles or FAQ sections. Helpful content gives Google more reasons to show your site and gives visitors more reasons to contact you.
How long does it take?
Local improvements often show within a few weeks once your profile and website are set up correctly. Competitive searches take longer and need steady effort. Track your progress in Search Console and your Business Profile insights.
